Classic Nigerian Jollof Rice

Learn to make the perfect jollof rice using our authentic jollof sauce. A one-pot wonder that's a staple in Nigerian cuisine.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups long-grain parboiled rice
  • 1 jar Lady B's Jollof Sauce
  • 3 cups chicken or beef stock
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: 1 cup mixed vegetables (carrots, green beans, peas)

Instructions

  1. 1 Rinse the rice thoroughly and set aside.
  2. 2 Heat oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add sliced onions and sauté until translucent.
  3. 3 Add Lady B's Jollof Sauce and stir for 2-3 minutes until fragrant.
  4. 4 Add the stock, bring to a boil, then add the rice. Stir well to combine.
  5. 5 Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 25-30 minutes until rice is cooked and liquid is absorbed.
  6. 6 If using vegetables, add them 10 minutes before the rice is done.
  7. 7 Fluff with a fork and serve hot. Enjoy!
