Nigerian Pepper Soup

A spicy, aromatic soup that's perfect for cold days. Made with fresh ingredients and traditional spices.

Ingredients

  • 500g fish, chicken, or goat meat
  • 2 medium onions, sliced
  • 2 scotch bonnet peppers, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons pepper soup spice mix
  • 1 tablespoon ground crayfish
  • 2 seasoning cubes
  • Salt to taste
  • 4 cups water
  • Fresh basil or scent leaves (optional)

Instructions

  1. 1 Wash and cut the meat or fish into pieces.
  2. 2 Place in a pot with water, add seasoning cubes and salt. Boil until tender.
  3. 3 Add sliced onions, chopped peppers, and pepper soup spice.
  4. 4 Simmer for 10-15 minutes until flavors are well combined.
  5. 5 Add ground crayfish and stir.
  6. 6 Add fresh basil or scent leaves if using.
  7. 7 Taste and adjust seasoning. Serve hot!
